People are telling me off again for walking home on my own. However, given my other option is riding a bike with no lights or helmet, and my record on bikes, and given I'm not nearly foolhardy enough to take the shortcut where people get murdered, i still think walking home is marginally safer. At least, i know that's a dangerous place to be walking, which presumably she didn't realise.
Googling galway crime rates gets the wikipedia page on galway where they insist that actually, galway is well-nigh crime free. The local paper has different ideas.
That said, riding a bike with no helmet is fun! or at least novel. and totally not illegal here.
