It's maintained its popularity in Sweden and India (and a few other countries). There's even a "Phantom Land" in Sweden!
It should be noted that it isn't *currently* being published in any Victorian newspapers - it's only available as a comic.
I think it's a real generational thing as are many of the things on this list. :)
