I got made permanent staff! In only 7 years I'll be eligible for long service leave.
Also, we have Russian visas. I checked the sunrise sunset times and the sun rises in st petersberg at all of 10am. eek.

let's do maths! 2x6.25 + 32x6.75 (generalising grossly, and also ignoring the three days in planes) = the whole five weeks i am away i will see a max of 229 hours of sunlight. which you will see in, lets say, half that time? now we know why tristan asked me to bring some sunshine over.

(i suggested it was hard to pack. perhaps a daylight lamp?)
