here we go
Has anyone ever heard of a documentary, presented by Dennis Hopper, on the subject of modern art, which starts with him sitting on a couch in the desert?
And or, where should I ask?
(crazy art teachers, mutter mutter mutter)

**puts my library hat on**
I assume you have tried IMDB to get a name for it?
Was it on TV? When was it on TV? If it was, you should be able to get it from Tape Services in South Australia
http://www.tapeservices.sa.edu.au/
Are you a member of the oztl_net list? You should join it as someone working in a school library. It's a good place to go with just such a query (and is one of the main uses of the list).
If it wasn't on TV, where did the person see it?
Hope that helps :)

I may just find Kathy the address of Dan Murphys; I'm not entirely sure this documentary exists!

1. The Cool School (this is brand new so unlikely to be it.) About american art in LA in the 1950s
2. The Sketches of Frank Gehry (which is a little older and so might be it.) About Frank Gehry.
It's a bit hard because apparently Dennis Hopper is in the top 100 art collectors in the world or some such and so is in a lot of art docos.
Hope this helps.
