swirlability in the city for vague wandering around and grandious planning for next year. Now I own more books, dammit. Read Stepford Wives on the train on the way home and wondered at what point do you not need to bother about spoiler alerts? When it is taught in Lit classes in Uni? In high school? When Betty Friedan is not politics but history? When Women's Studies is no longer a possible major? When it's referenced on the Simpsons? When it's a hollywood movie? When, in other words, does something become cultural memory? I didn't see Star Wars until I was grown up, and I knew long before that Darth Vader was Luke's father, even without being a fan -- just because it was a known thing, like Santa Claus isn't real. So does this mean that small children will grow up always knowing that Snape kills Dumbledore, and does this make the earlier books more or less worth reading? But anyway, Stepford Wives: How could he? No! (end spoilers.)
